Use Beerdog to collect great beers you find - simply by taking a picture - we'll do the rest! Use the web to see what the rest of the world of Beerdogs are doing.
Sounds cool. What does it do?
Beerdog blends collecting, social networking and gaming - it's a fun and useful companion to your experience of beer culture.
Looking for something interesting to try next? Ask your Beerdog for an idea. Found something interesting you'd like to tell others about? Show your Beerdog and he'll let the rest of the pack know.
You said "your Beerdog", is there more than one?
Yes - every user is a Beerdog. Find and follow others nearby or your pack across the world via the app and web site.
What's a pack?
Create a list of other dogs you want to keep track of, let know about your latest finds and play the game with.
Why did you say "play the game"?
Beerdog isn't just lists of stuff. It's a game too.
Really, what sort of game?
There are a number of different games built into the service. At first, you'll win points for finding your first few beers. Later you'll win points for finding interesting beers in interesting places and letting others know. There are real prizes too.
What do you mean "train your dog", how do I do that?
You train your dog by taking pictures of beer you like. As your dog is trained, he learns more about what you like and has a chance of winning prizes based on what you have found. We have deals with brewers to get you real beer stuff such as glasses, caps and other merchandise.
Very cool, how does training work?
Just take a picture of a beer bottle, taphead or beermat using our mobile app, and your dog will recognize it.
Really, that's awesome. Does it work every time?
He's pretty good, but sometimes he'll make a mistake. If you find a mistake, correct him and you'll earn bonus points for careful training.
You said "interesting places", what does that mean?
When you take a picture via the app, your dog knows where you took it. He won't forget either. If you are ever nearby again, he'll remind you of the beers you once had nearby.
Can I see what other dogs have found nearby?
Yes.
That's neat, so I can be on vacation and find out what the local dogs like to drink?
Yes, you can. It's a nice feature. You can use the service in advance of going too, just set your search location and we'll show you recent activity by any dogs in the area you are looking at.
Nice! So my dog remembers every beer I've ever shown him?
He sure does. The app is like a "passport" or notebook. We'll show you every beer your dog has found from our database of all the beers of the world.

Installed on my RAZR MAXX. This app is ridiculously slow to perform any task. Additionally, it is not easy to figure out what some of the functions are. Chats? That makes no sense. I'm not chatting with anyone. It's simply a list of beers that I've found/

I was amazed the first time it identified a beer. It gave me all the information about the beer and links to an encyclopedia of beer and breweries. The one time it miss identified the brewery I commented what it should be and it was quickly corrected.

And let's face it that is pretty useful after you've "found" a few.
