HERO is a useful geo-location application for Android that is especially made for those times when you need help, simply by streaming video, audio and gps to all your friends, family and people around you up to 5 miles away. The data can be seen even if your phone is broken.
From the main menu, you can access to the Alert screen by pressing on the Hero button located on top. Click the center of the screen to send instant video and location to the crowd and Custom Alert to add a message.
You can add your list of contacts -heroes- and see their notifications as well as their alert status (resolved, in distress). You can view the map to get the direction of the alert and help your friend and that also helps you see if there are any alerts going on nearby.
Basically, this is a helpful tool for being protected and making sure everyone you know is safe. The usability makes it easy to use and the tutorial in the beginning successfully explains what this is really about and its main uses. Apptooth is the developer of HERO, its only app so far in the market and a good tool if you want to keep your family safe and sound.

I love this idea and want to be a hero in my area. This app unfortunately crashes after you select any feature on my new sprint galaxy s3. I will upgrade my rating once this is fixed

I downloaded the app and then had trouble. Emailed the developer and NOTHING!! I uninstalled this app and went with another similar app HERO by GETHEROAPPS - WAYYYYY Better!!!

Greatful for this app, hope it works correctly. Installing this on my 12 year olds phone. I pray she never has to use it.
