"Simple" Checkin isn't euphemism: this app is truly simple. Sometimes you don't want to see your friends updates, pictures or any other stuff: you want to check and move. Well, that's what Simple Checkin offers: fast checkin.
It tracks nearby places and displays the list from where you can check-in in one touch. What's more, at the bottom of the screen there's a map to check that you're checkin properly in the desire location. If the venue you're looking for isn't in the list, input venues' name in the search bar. Keep in mind that your Foursquare friends can see checkins made by Simple Checkin but they won't be posted to Facebook or Twitter.
Yes, layout should be improved. But you were looking for quickness, isn't? That has a price. We can assure Simple Checkin is fast, not such as cute as you maybe expected. Anyway, recommendable for people who's really into Foursquare.
Sometimes you just want to check-in to Foursquare and move on. Simple check-in allows you to do just that.

This app supports android 2.1 and up. It should allow you to foursquare check-in with no problems on even the oldest phones.
Currently there are only 770 lines of code in the entire app, this helps to keep it fast. The goal is to keep this under 1000 to maximize speed, and reduce battery drain.

Awesome app, simple and low memory usage. Official 4sq client uses too much memory and I use only check-ins so this one is great for me! BUT, sometimes won't find me unless I turn on the GPS!

I didn't use this for a few months, and just reinstalled it yesterday, 4/23. Seems about a 50/50 chance that when I try to refresh the list or check in somewhere, my phone will hard-reboot. It's a Galaxy Nexus running, admittedly, a custom ROM, but hey, t
