Sonar: Friends Nearby is a new social network that enables you to connect with friends and people similar to you that are nearby, making the world smaller than you think.
First of all, you want to sign in with Facebook or Foursquare -so far- and then you can connect your accounts of LinkedIn and Twitter. Thanks to that, you can now access to people near you, update your status and see which of your friends have Sonar accounts. The app includes messages and activity notifications in case you want to chat with people.
The design is great and elegant, the controls work perfectly and we have no complaints on that, but we still can't figure it out what does this social network have that is different from all the others. Will people really use it? What for exactly?
Sonar Media, Inc. is the developer of this new application, a good tool if you're already tired of Facebook, Twitter or Foursquare and want to try something new with your friends.

Pros: easy to see who is around you or nearby have actually found old friends thru app Cons: does not find all nearby locations, extremely data intensive, locks up frequently, does not always update location and status. More than that really On Samsung no

Great Application for random finds of friends.

As this app runs constantly in the background, you can't use it with an old/crappy phone. This app will slow your phone down drastically and drain your battery. Just fyi, I am using a Galaxy Nexus S.
