Cross-platform messenger based on push notifications has deeply broken into our life. That's what Talkbox is about. However, it's going a step further: voice messages. For those who find typing annoying because they don't get used to screen keyboards, TalkBox is a good choice.
Interface and performance is quite similar to Whatsapp and other similar cross-platform messenger service. The main difference lies on that the message is talked, not typed. Thus, you can listen to the emotions, emoji aren't needed. No need either to upload and download the voice notes. It actually works like the typed messages but it makes you save time and efforts.
Your voice clips can even be shared via Facebook and Twitter. You can listen back to the messages whenever you want. As well as other cross-platform messenger services, you can create chat groups, share location and media. The main catch we've noticed is that you have to sign up in order to start using it. Unlike other service that are phone number-based (and which sync your phonebook contacts with the chat service), TalkBox asks you to register. However, you can use Facebook Connect to do it. In this case, your Facebook friends will be sync with TalkBox.
The layout is cool and simple. It's simplicity makes it attractive. You contacts list is sync with Facebook. For this reason, there will be the profile picture of your friends and the "F" Facebook Logo if they've also an account on this social network.
TalkBox works pretty well. The sound quality of voice clips is acceptable. The interface is user friendly and the layout cute enough. The only catch is the registration process. Recommendable.
