This is the Lite version with ads. What's more, widgets and multi-account aren't available. If you want/need them, you can upgrade to the Pro version ($0.90).
What we have discovered here is a not-so-well known Twitter client that is as good as the "most popular" Twitter clients (or even better in some regards). This is specially important since it has been developed by an individual, not a start-up. That's the evidence that there's no need of owning lots of resources to create worthy thing, but a great amount of creativity and power of will.
We've the feeling that TweetTopics is as good as it is because it brings together from other Twitter clients their best features. Let's see them.
First off, it allows you to preview photos, videos and links from the app. What's more, there are thumbnails of the profile picture of your contacts as well as the user who's retweeting. You can set the shortcuts of the actions you want to perform when long-press on a tweet (RT, Mention, Direct Message, "Read Later"). Actually, "Read later" is one of the features we like most. It saves that tweets that you want to read later, no need to send it to your e-mail or to retweet them. keep them in your personal folder.
There's a bottom bar with a time line tweet counter, mentions counter and direct messages counter. Although it doesn't work with scrolling columns, you just need to tap on this tabs to get into the column. What's more, you can search an user or a HT by using the browse button at the bottom. All your searches will remain there in order to check them out when you want (sorted by last searched).
It's easy to know where you stopped reading tweets since the unread tweets are marked with a colored left bar. Likewise, you can see at a glance hashtags, links or mentions within the tweet because they're set in different colors (highly configurable). Other interesting features: autocomplete usernames, translate tweets to other languages, add geolocation to your tweets, scheduled tweet, see local trendings topics... Actually, we really like the way you can choose the country/city you want to see the TT from, and the way it displays it on a pop-up window.
There are lots of options regarding notifications, updating, interface. One of the most complete we've seen in this regard. Full ADW Launcher integration. You can set the theme by your own (by selecting the colors for each item) or import it from the official website http://www.tweet-topics.com. You can backup your Twitter account, change the font size, work on drafts, retweet types (presets), change background image, shorten links... The amount of options for setting it to your own is just impressive. It just needs to fix some performance flaws to get 5 stars.
