AnTuTu Benchmark makes a multi-test of your device's hardware
Benchmark apps have become a good way to compare potential and response of different pieces of hardware. That worked on hardware for PC and laptops for a while and now it makes sense having similar tools to compare CPU, GPU, RAM, etc given the amount of manufacturers and models that are coming out.
Benchmarking is now easiest than ever thanks to mobile benchmark like AnTuTu. You just need to run it, get the results and compare them with other results perform by individual users with their devices. This way users cannot just compare performance regarding different devices but also how different Android versions or custom ROMs affect performance same model devices.
AnTuTu Benchmark runs a full test through the "Memory Performance", "CPU Integer Performance", "CPU Floating point performance", "2D/3D graphics performance", "SD card reading/writing speed", "Database IO performance" and many other parameters. Ohter single text like "Stability test", "Battery life", "3D rating" and "battery saver" can also be run. It take a few seconds to run the full test. The final score is displayed by CPU, GPU, RAM and I/O. Users can add a nickname, comment and rate their device's performance before submitting it to the community.
In addition, users can access the charts and compare one-to-one any device to their own device. Likewise, there's a forum where the community is discussing results and other related issues.
AnTuTu is an indie benchmark tool which means that (at least so far) there's no effective influence of any manufacturer to focus on one or other parameter (which would improve make some brands climb in the charts).

User Experience (UX) - Gives each user a direct impression on smart device performance with detailed scores.
CPU Tests - Lets each individual user know how powerful of a CPU they have, with detailed score points and true hard-numbers.
RAM Tests - Reflects the real processing ability the RAM of your Android smart phones has to offer.
GPU Tests - Helps users know the real graphics processing performance, critical for all 3D effects, games, and video playback.
I/O Tests – Gives users a direct score that reflects on the factual input/output (I/O) performance your system permits.
Besides the professional and wildly popular benchmarking matrix, users can compare their own device with other popular devices that may also have powerful hardware performance.

Good for comparing phones to know if you have a good phone
My brand new note 3 is worse than a note 3. How does that work?
It would be better if it actually offered recommendations on how to improve performance, like how to tweak settings, etc.
