A simple App to backup and restore APNs (Settings to connect to the internet with the mobile connection). The backup is stored in the /sdcard/APNBackupRestore folder.

Android 4.4 / KitKat: The app has to be moved to the /system/priv-app folder for it to be able to acquire the correct permissions.

NOTE: Starting with Android 4.0/ICS, 3rd Party apps don't have access to write APN settings, hence this app no longer works for restoring APN backups as a normal app. You can convert it to a System app using Titanium Backup on a rooted phone and use.

- Open Titanium Backup
- Go to backup/restore tab
- Find APN Backup & Restore on the list
- Long press on the app when you find it
- Select Convert to system app
- Open APN Backup & Restore
- Click menu and disable ICS check

Recently changed in this version

- Removed the Ads and the Permissions needed for them :)
As such the app always had Ads, just the previous network didn't work properly to show them.

- Using a new Ad Service (Mobclix).
- Added an option to disable the check for ICS devices. This allows the app to be used as a System app on rooted devices.
- Read Phone State/Identity permission required by Mobclix to access a unique identifier that some ad networks require to track impressions..

I got a kyocera hydro elite unlocked phone off ebay to use with straight talk. When I got it I found out the hard way that the ability to edit APN names is disabled on this verizon phone. I found I could root it using Kingo Android Root, then use Titanium backup (pro) to switch this app to a system file, and then use Offline Sim APN to actually setup new information(also converted to a system fi

The TB directions did not work for me on Note 3 4.2.2 rooted TouchWiz. But I'm using SuperSU as my root permissions. After converting to system app, I found the app was still in /system/app. So I used Root Explorer Pro to manually move it to /system/priv-app and now it's backing up my APN just fine.

Nowhere in the description does it say you must have the PAID version of Titanium Backup. I would like to try this but. must have the Donate verison to convert it to the system app. :( I will re-rate it when I can get the PAID Ti Backup. 2 stars.. lack of Documentation.
