"Why don't make your smartphone... smarter?"

Reviewed by / Apr 29, 2014

Atooma is a ground-breaking app that enables users to automatize phone processes

We spend a lot of time looking at our smartphones' screen. That's a fact. However, some of that time is spent enabling/disabling features (WiFi, data, sound, bluetooth, GPS) once and again. Since most of that processes are activated/deactivated following a pattern, why if we could program them to be performed automatically? Wouldn't it make our life easier?

That's Atooma premise. Make your life easier by automatizing lots of different daily processes carried out in your smartphone. Ok, there are lots of apps that helps you do that. However, we haven't seen none like this one regarding versatility and user-oriented interface.

It works with coding logical, that's it: IF something happens THEN DO whatever. Don't be scared though: everything is about icons and visual managing. There's a IF carousel with different categories: mobile, apps, data, pack (NFC) and objects (coming soon). Thus, you can set for instance IF - Mobile - Location is "wherever" (uses GPS and Google Maps to find it) - DO - Mobile - Wifi ON. Thus, when you get to the office (for example), WiFi will automatically turn ON. Awesome, isn't it? Well, that can be customized at your whim: location, WiFi, bluetooth, sound profiles, apps and many many more. Just let your imagination fly.

One of the strongest point of Atooma is that your "atooma" (your automatic sets) can be private or public. If public, other Atooma users will be able to check them and download them to their own Atooma profile. This makes it even more interesting: we all have similar needs and sharing makes use more efficient. Connecting Atooma to your most-used service: Dropbox, Drive, Facebook, Instagram, etc. will empower the app offering even more possible combinations.

Developer's original description available here
Atooma will transform your smartphone in a magical personal assistant!

Thanks to Atooma -smart actions- you can automate all the manual operations you usually perform with your phone, sparing your precious time and creating new unprecedented functionalities.
Productivity, Wifi, Mobile Data, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Gmail, now you will be in control of your Android device.

▶ HOW DOES IT WORK?
IF something happens DO something else. This is the essence of a smart action. For example: IF I arrive at home turn on the Wifi, if I exit turn off the Wifi. Save on Dropbox every new picture I take with the phone’s camera. If battery life is low then turn off Bluetooth, lower display brightness and send an SMS to alert your dears.
In Atooma you will find pre-made smart actions based on different contexts, or you can create them from scratch choosing what you need step by step.
Set up to 5 IF conditions and 5 DO actions: you can choose between sensors, apps, mobile functions and connected objects like your smartwatch.

▶ WHY ATOOMA?

. Make It Simple
You don’t need to be a geek in order to use Atooma!
You may prefer using existing rules chosen by the Team or creating new ones following detailed instructions: Atooma will perfectly fit your lifestyle.

. Context Aware
Atooma can manage up to 5 IF conditions and 5 DO actions per smart action: thanks to this, your smartphone will react with the right interaction in the right timing.

. Ecosystem
We are always at work to add new functions to Atooma: new external app integrated, new connected devices, new sensors.

The location based triggers stopped working since the last update. Useless to me now :-(

Love the design and the functionality, but the latest update (material design) has stopped all my atooma's from working. At first I thought it was just a problem with the location integration because the UI changed (no longer a map that you can pin; now you have to type in an address…not so convenient). I noticed that my wifi was not switching entering and leaving my home, but then realized that

My atoomas have been unreliable since the last update. For example, my phone no longer goes silent when I arrive at work. Atooma doors not even stay running.

No awareness of the location at all, any of my atoomas arena working because of the location. The other ones are turned off and I can't turn them on at all! !!

Beautiful interface and easy to use. I have tried a few others, but i found this to be the most user friendly.
