DiskUsage provides a way to monitor files and directories on storage

    • Useful
    • Filters
    • Pinch to zoom
    • Layout should be improved
    • More variables can be added

Maybe you're wondering why you would need that. Well, it allows you to know which files/resources consume lots of space. DisUsage tracks your apps and folders and displays a diagram which shows their size.

First off, DiskUsage let you choose the view: app storage, SDcard or "root required". The latter allows you to explore only-root access folders like /cache, /data, /dev, etc. After making your choice, DiskUsage scans your directory and then shows the diagram. You can zoom in/out by pinching. Press MENU for actions: from there you can rescan, show hardware renderer view and apply filters.

From my point of view, most useful info that provides the app is the difference between .apk size and data size in each app. This way you can see how much data generates one app. It even displays dalvikCache allocated for your apps on your data partition.

Sincerely, this is for medium or rather high profile users who are concerned about their apps and storage usage. Layout is simple but it's still useful.
