'Japanese emoticons' app allows fastly inserting 顔文字 (kaomoji, Japanese smileys) to your messages everywhere. Just open the app and select a smile - it will be automatically copied to the clipboard. App can be attached to the system bar or to the search key. Simeji is also supported. Less clicks, more convenient!
Please note that it's not graphic emoticons, it is text ones. Also, because this app is not a service, it doesn't take CPU time and doesn't discharge the battery.
This is a free version of app. You can purchase 'Japanese emoticons Pro' to get rid of the ads.

cute but when i use it, i can see it on my samsung galaxy s4 but when i send it to other phones, they only see parenthesis and question marks like this (???*???)

When i use the emoticon, the message spaces out tremendously. It doesn't show on my screen but on the receiving phone it does

But when I send it to my friend's iPhone 5, all she sees is a bunch of question marks like this:????????????. I'm not sure if it only works if I send it to people who have the app too but I'm pretty disappointed.
