My guess is that they had a contract with the FCC to provide this service that ended on April 1. Pushing an update that removes this ability might make sense to the business, but talk about a bad practice for customers. Ookla still has their own app on th

DOESN'T WORK-probably because it appears to just be an interface app to a Windows only program.

As of April 16 2013 the app does not work. If you scroll all the way to the bottom of the app install page can report it as inappropriate.
