Go Dev Team, the well-known developer is trying to offer a comprehensive alternative for most of the default Android features. Besides its launcher, themes, weather app, addons and plugins, now they’ve launched an alternative keyboard for Android.
GO Keyboard is based regular-type keyboard based on prediction (it doesn’t include swype). That’s the only thing you cannot change. The rest can be set to your whim: it’s probably one of the most configurable keyboard. You can set sound and vibrate, input settings (auto-capitalization, display suggestions, auto-complete, auto-space, smileys, voice input...), languages settings (it supports chinese input and chinese handwriting). It supports 25+ languages.
What’s more, if you want to have a stunning keyboard, you can change themes to you liking. You can download one of the several themes available. You can even set a picture as keyboard’s background.
The amount of customizating options is really impressive. However, it doesn’t support Swype, the prediction could be improved (for example, by importing text from other resources than just SMS). It would be great if it supported more than one language-dictionary at once.
Anyway, GO Keyboard is the right choice if you’re looking for a high-customizable keyboard, simple and with an acceptable performance. Recommendable.
