Google's Voice Synthesizer is one of the features of Android devices which could end up being a great help for some users. Basically, what this feature does is read the text which appears on your screen aloud; providing that the app in question has the appropriate support from Google (for example, Google Books or TalkBack for people with disabilities).
It's a really useful option, especially if you don't want to strain your eyes, or if you are in a foreign country (it also works with Google Translate). Just tap and forget about reading the screen.
It's a bit of a hidden option, and most people don't even know it exists. The pronunciation isn't the best either, but it's good enough in general, and makes most content more accessible. It's a shame that it's still not available for most apps.
