*** Root & busybox required ***

Internet & Local Tools Free enables you to find out more about your Internet connection and sites you're connecting to, and provides you with information for troubleshooting connections. It also presents useful information about your phone, mostly not available from the Android menus. Requires rooted device and busybox (see below for full list of requirements).

Internet Tools:

Ping, Traceroute, Nameserver lookup, Whois, MAC Lookup, Internal/External IP

Local Tools:

Network Status, Wifi State, Interface Config, Scan Local Network for connected devices, List All Processes, List Top Processes by CPU usage plus summary information

In addition, the Pro version features:

No ads
Copy results to clipboard
Send results directly by email or text message (if device supports)
Select from 4 colour schemes (menu on tool selection page)

To enable full functionality, the following requirements must be met:

rooted device (phone/tablet)
superuser app installed
busybox app installed (v 1.19.3 recommended)
if firewall used (e.g. Droidwall), whitelist this app and "(root) Applications running as root".

It is recommended that the free (ad-supported) version is tried first so any configuration issues can be resolved before purchase.

This app provides a user friendly graphical interface to some of the (normally) command line utilities contained in busybox. Traceroute & Nslookup are only available in some versions of busybox. Version 1.19.3. is recommended, and it can easily be installed using Busybox app by Stericson. If you already have busybox installed, you can check the version and whether it contains Traceroute & Nslookup by starting a shell and typing 'busybox' (without quotes) to get a command listing.

Note that whilst Titanium Backup installs a version of busybox, it is in its own data area. The version of busybox required by this app should be installed in the /system/xbin directory and can be used without interference with the one used by Titanium Backup.

Permissions Required:

INTERNET – all the Internet tools in this app require internet access
ACCESS_WIFI_STATE – check if wifi is switched on, display wifi info
CHECK_LICENSE – access Google's license server (Pro version only)
ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE – required for Ads in Free version, or if Pro version fails license check

I'm the dev of this app but can't reply directly to comments. David Raymond, you didn't select the right installation directory in the busybox installer, and you were able to run this app once you'd corrected it.

Love this utility! Many of the features one would need wrapped in a simple no-frills interface. Very small footprint to boot. Developer goes waaaay out of his way to support. The Pro version worth every penny with the ability to copy/paste info.

I had to uninstall this app, because it complained that I didn't have BusyBox in /system/xbin when I tried to use the "Ping" function. I think the developer needs to make the app detect BusyBox, because I know the same developer's BusyBox that he mentions is installed on my device. I have never had any other app fail to work, because of where BusyBox was located. I mean, you don't even have any
