LED Flashlight

A very simple app that will activate the camera LED lights to act as a flashlight. The LED lights will turn off when the app exits.

This app designed to have the smallest memory footprint possible. This application has been personally verified to work on HTC EVO 3D (which is what I use). I can only verify that it works on the device I own and developed it for. It may or may not work with other devices. I will update the list of devices it has been reported to work with or fail with, but I must rely on reports from users about their experiences. I do not own those devices and cannot verify if it does or does not work with them. Devices which use non-standard methods to identify and control their LED lights may not work properly with this application. If you install this for other devices please submit comments saying if it worked for you or if you experience any issues and which device you used.

The app will react to screen orientation changes in the following ways:

Changing orientation while the screen is on will briefly reset the LEDs as the app adjusts to the new orientation. If your LED lights are off, try changing orientation to reset them.

If the screen is in PORTRAIT mode when you turn off the screen the LED lights will also turn off and remain off until you change the screen orientation at least once with the screen turned on.

If the screen is in LANDSCAPE mode when you turn off the screen the LED lights will briefly turn off with the screen but will then turn on and remain on while the screen is turned off. This is to allow the phone to be used as a continuous flashlight without the need for the main screen to be active (saves power) or the worry that the app might exit and turn off the LED lights while you are using the app.

*It had been reported to work with LG Ally in Dec 2011, but recent reports suggest it will not work with the current Android build on those devices as of April 2012. (I am unable to directly verify since I do not have one of those to test on.)
