Thanks to Llama you can teach your phone what to do depending on where you are. You don't need to leave enabled GPS 24/7: it doesn't work this way. It needs a "learning" process throughout which it tracks phone masts around. For example: launch Llama to detect phone masts near to work and it will detect when you get there (the longer it tracks the more accurate it will be). Then, it will automatically perform what you told Llama to do in that location: disable WiFi, enable vibration, enable GPS, etc. You can add as many locations as you want.
Actually, for a more accurate performance you should take some time defining the event: an event contains some conditions and some actions. There are lots of actions: kill app, music media volume, run app, screen lock password... check out developer description. When all conditions are met, Llama will perform the actions for the event. Most events come in pairs: you need one to turn something on, then another to turn something off, so yo'll usually create two events with the events conditions reversed (this way of proceeding it's a bit annoying).
You can check out "History" button to check out if all the events and actions are being performed properly. You can even place shortcuts to events in your home screen. Even it takes some time to set it all, it's worth. Must-have app.
