Lookator is an Augmented Reality app for finding better WiFi hotspots signals
Just hold up your smartphone and you'll see hotspots around you. You will see at a glance its intensity (bars) and how far it is. You can apply filters on your search. For example, just showing open hotspots, WeFi, Locked or Coffee Shop. What's more you can select if showing hotspots scanned hotspots or out of range hotspots (enable GPS and download WeFi to get hotspots out of range too).
You will get the hang of this app quickly due to its simplicity. We're missing though extra features like filtering by distance or 3G better network zone. Its main catch is that if you're close to several hotspots, it will be shown overlayed, and it will be difficult to select only one.
Lookator has been developed by LoFT, an emerging developer who has just launched this app on the market with remarkably success.
Lookator is a great tool to see at a glance WiFi hotspots around you. High recommended.
Enable GPS and download Wefi to get hotspots out of range too!
*Directions may not lead exactly to a hotspot - but it will lead to better signal
Still not being updated. Highly inaccurate locating capacity for wifi. More of a fancy wifi list than an AR app
I was hesitant to try this app with all the complaints about all the icons in a vertical row. But it's definitely working on my device and is showing icons in different directions. It seems to be reasonably accurate based on the positions of my own Wi-Fi routers.
Just doesnt work. It places all basestations at 1 line, which happens to be incorrect.
Every connection shows up in a single line in one direction no matter where the actual broadcasting device is.
Used to work great including placement 360 degrees all the way back on the mytouch 3G also on the mytouch 4G also on my samsung galaxy s 4G I'm not sure if it worked on my Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G but I know that I tried to put it on to my HTC One VX today as well as my Asus Transformer Pad infinity; Where as everything would have been placed in proper places where I know where they are in real l
As everyone else has already stated wifi names stack
