Locale uNagi Settings Plug-inThis plug-in allows automation apps such as Tasker or Locale to automatically start or stop GPS track recordings using Google's MyTracks application.
NOTE: You must have My Tracks plus either Locale or Tasker installed on your phone for this plug-in to work. Its job is to enable Locale or Tasker to automatically control My Tracks recordings. It does NOT yet provide its own user interface, but will be listed on the Plug-ins tab in Tasker or Locale.
TROUBLESHOOTING: If you need help troubleshooting, I recommend using Quick Tracks. When you run it, if you can tap its record button to begin recording in MyTracks, this plug-in should work. If Quick Tracks can't record, it'll give you suggestions on what you might need to fix.

Dead simple to use. Starts and stops MyTracks recording. I plan to integrate it with Ingress such that when I get out of the car it starts recording when I get back in it stops.

Tested this out by creating a task inh Tasker and set up a NFC Task to start recording in My Tracks when I scanned the sticker. Works just as described.

The plugin keeps the mytracks service running in the background, thereby keeping GPS on at all times. Killing the service does not help as it just opens right back up. Does not happen when tasker is disabled, or when using QuickTracks. Please fix. ICS S
