Add this app to your lists
Nexus USB OTG File Manager allows you to open and copy files from any USB mass storage device with a FAT32 or NTFS filesystem using the USB OTB port of your device, tablet or phone.

With a FAT32 filesystem, you can copy files to any USB mass storage device and manage your files on it (edit filenames, add directories, delete files) too.
You can also manage your files in the internal memory of your device.

This application has been designed for Nexus products which have an USB "OnTheGo" port, as the Nexus 7 2013 and the brand new Nexus 5. But it could work on any device with an USB OTG port Under Androïd 4.0 or later, including the last Androïd 4.4 KitKat.

Root privileges are NOT necessary!

For now, FAT32 filesystem is supported for data read and write, and NTFS filesystem is only supported for data read. You can use USB sticks or SD card readers with any compatible USB OTG cable.

*** FEATURES ***

Nexus USB OTG File Manager allows you to open your files directly from your USB device! You just need to have an app that can handle it. For audio and video, I advise you to use VLC.
The new Network Access authorization is only here for local use to be able to open the files. The app NEVER send or receive data to/from Internet.

Nexus USB OTG File Manager supports devices with multiple logical units (like a GPS with an internal memory and an additionnal SD card) and allows you to choose which logical unit you want to read.

Nexus USB OTG File Manager now includes an "Advanced Mode" which allows you to access to all the files of your device. You can now create files and directories outside of the official Androïd public directories. This is for advanced users only!

Before buying this application, please try the free trial version named Nexus USB OTG FileManagerTrial to be sure that this application is working with your USB devices.

This is not an official Google application. Nexus brand is the property of Google.

Recently changed in this version

v1.3: Big update!
* BIG improvement of the compatibility with a lot of USB devices including the OTG devices like Kingston MicroDuo
* Bug fixes: Media files are now taken in account after a copy on your Android device. For example, if you copy a photo to the internal memory, you will see it in the gallery.
* You can now lock your device during a copy or a delete to save power. This is why the wake lock authorization is now necessary.

For the most part the app does what it says. However many media files refuse to play.Although I don't know if that's a limitation of the app or OTG as a whole as the same files play flawlessly from the internal storage.Plus after having accidentally uninstalled the app I had to pay for it again to unlock the pro features.I expect a refund for the double payment. Also file copy from external storage

I have a nexus 5 and use sandisk USB dual otg flash drive to copy files. Your app copy files but does not read media files that quick. While playing videos on VLC player I cannot intervene i.e pause/play,fast forward or have to start all over again...all video formats are not supported on otg file manager. Please suggest any video app that plays all formats and read/write faster...

I'm using nexus 5, and tested it on dual USB drive of sandisk, and its working fine for now. Haven't tested it with different drives yet. But videos are working too for me. But first we have to download them to our mobile.

I had installed trail version first and unable to open files. I moved to paid version now app is excellent and able to play videos without any problems using vlc. Images are opened using chrome instead of Gallery or google photos, Unable to open PDF, word docs etc. Do we have any other possibilities to open these things without downloading to phone?
