Choose this app as default and don't let others snoop through your phone
Avanos - Guest Mode for Android is a privacy application that presents a dial mode in which your phone is locked and can only be accessed by passwords.
If you want to let your phone to somebody who wants to make a call and you're worried about your privacy, set the Avalon app as default and the app will be locked, the other person will not be able to exit. After the call, the app will ask for a password (default is 1234) and this will be the only way of using the phone correctly again.
We're not sure about its actual utility, as everyone has their own phones and if they want to make an urgent call they won't probably spend their time looking at your things). Also, the app doesn't always work and it's not simple to set it up.
Michael Shaw is the developer of Avanos, an app which should be improved in order to obtain a higher rating.
•Coaches of young players that let their team players use their phones to call home
•Parents that let their kids call their friends with their phones
•Guy with a girlfriend that snoops through their phone or vice versa
•Emergencies where someone needs to call their loved ones
•Simple, easy to use dialer that can make calls to anywhere.
•When the user ends the call, it goes to a password entry that utilizes the password chosen by the owner that unlocks the app. The default password is “1234”. Sometimes it takes two tries to successfully unlock.
•Password can be anything.
•Persistent notifications so you can start Obstructer quickly when needed.
•Small data footprint of about 1 MB.
•When not in use, the phone operates as usual.
• No Ads
How to Use:
•If someone asks to use your phone to call someone, open Avanos and press the home button. If a dialog opens, check “Use by default for this action” and choose “Obstructer”. The user is now locked into the app and cannot access other phone features by pressing the home button or the back button. If nothing happens, the phone is locked.
•When the user ends his/her phone call, a password dialog will open. Enter your password. If correct, a message will appear saying “Phone is now unlocked.” and will go back to the dialer. You can now press the home button to return the phone to normal use. If the password entered is not correct, a message will appear saying “Incorrect Password”.
•If you accidentally open the app and it’s locked, press the “Call” button and it will go to the password entry. Enter your password and press the home button.
•It is recommended that you change your password before the first use. The default password is “1234”.
•It is not guaranteed that your personal data will be protected by this app. If you are concerned that your personal data will be opened, force close all of your apps containing personal data such as Gallery and Call Logs.
•Due to Android security credentials, if you need to use Obstructer multiple times at once you need to press the home button and reopen the app to make sure it’s locked.
•New proper settings menu
•New persistent notification- Start Obstructer when it’s needed

Password dialog is very confusing — do I need to confirm existing password? why? After setting it up, I probably wouldn't want to change it anymore. Also, the password is probably an overkill, something simpler to enter would be much preferred: slide g
