Referrer Test for Google Play

Note: To properly use this application, you should only install it if you were directed here by a URL. More details below.
Referrer Test is an Android test application that shows how you can pass a 'referrer' string from a website/email/ad/whatever to the Google Play store on Android, have the user install your application, and then have the Play store pass the referrer string into your Android application after the install completes. This application, it's source code, and the accompanying website allow you to test how referrer strings work.
To get started, go here to build a URL that will direct you back to this Play store page from a URL with a referrer parameter.
You can find the source to this project at...
For a quick test, click the link below. It will direct you back to this page, but include "Howdy Partner!" as the referrer string. After installing the application, you will see "Howdy Partner!" in the log window within the app.
Lastly, if Referrer Test doesn't work for you, it is most likely a sign that the device you are on or the version of the Play Store you have doesn't support referrer intents. One of the main reasons for writing Referrer Test was to determine which devices have issues.
