SatFinder uses GPS and AR technology to help you find satellites position

Finding satellites positions and aiming antennas were though task a few years ago. Now, thanks to Android and the effort of some developers, we can turn out smartphones in testers and antenna pointers.

SatFinder uses GPS technology to show your position (coordinates), aiming accuracy, city and street. In order words, it locates your to help you set an accurate satellite pointing.

Below your location info, you can find the satellites you want to point to and its azimuth, elevation, LNB tilt and compass degrees. This way you can set accurate pointing just by fixing your smartphone to your antenna and moving it.

What's more, it makes the most of your camera and augmented reality technology to show satellites position. Aim with your camera the sky and start viewing satellites in AR. In addition, you can see antenna pointer on a map. It also includes a whole world FTA and encrypted channels database.

The only catch: it takes too long to set your location. However, AR features makes the difference. In summary, an useful tool to point your antennas to the right satellite.

For people who are giving me one star "because this app use camera permission". This app need this permission, to work ARView. It is not taking any photos - only use camera preview to show you where the satellite is on the sky...

SatFinder (Satellite Finder) is a tool which will help you to set up satellite dish. It will give you azimuth, elevation and LNB tilt for your location (based on GPS) and chosen satellite from list. The result is shown both as numeric data and graphical on google maps. It has also built in compass which will help you to find proper satellite azimuth. It also can use augmented reality to show where is satellite on camera view.

The satellite list is complete and includes all televison satellites, so the app should work worldwide. If you found some errors please send me e-mail. It will help me make this app better ;)

Since version 1.07 there is whole world FTA and encrypted channels database. It take a few seconds to show whole list so be patient. It use internet connection. Top 10 countries got fixed language on nice list. The list will be updated. The users from another countries can type language manual. But the list uses language shortcuts, for example - English = eng, German = ger, etc... The channel list is still incomplete - I'm working on it. If you find error on list please send me e-mail...

    I'm a direct TV technician and gave this app a try. I found the azimuth was off at least 10 degrees. The tilt almost 30 degrees being it called for 29 when it should be 62 azimuth called for 219 should be 235 elevation was only two degrees higher. App ha
