This application reveals all iridium flares and satelittes (including international space station and amateur radio satellites) passing by at your location.
An auto-adjusting compass pointing in the direction of the satellite or flare helps you tracing the object.
Notifications can be enabled to warn you whenever a satellite of interest passes by.

The actual data is taken from They did a great job so check out their website too.
This is NOT the official Android application although the name may suggest this.

So far I'm impressed. . More to come after I get the alerts.. . . . The compass works fine on my galaxy Nexus. Always points North. What else can you want from a compass.

Seems to cover all my needs. Tracking across sky, tracking around the earth, compass, brightness, info about object (satellite, rocket body,...). Filters out daylight hours (though also filters our daylight iridium flares - so loss of one star)

Would buy pay version but one issue , no option to hide non functional amateur radio satellites.

Much of the data doesn't load for me, but I still get the basic satellite brightness, time, and direction. I'll probably keep using it for now.
