Slick USB 2 Serial Terminal Pro allows you to use your tablet with your Prolific or FTDI based USB to Serial adapter and connect to your serial devices.
NO ROOTING is necessary! All you need is this app and a compatible usb to serial cable (majority of cables based off the prolific or ftdi chipset).
Pro version enables saving of hot buttons and previous commands. Disables ads. Change text appearance. Latest features.
Try the non pro version and see if it works with your setup first!
This app was created in response to many sys/network admins looking to interface with routers/switches using only their tabs without having to lug their laptops around. This is only one use case. Send an email if you've found a new unique way to use this app.

Id like to use this more especially because of the sharing functions that other similar programs don't have. But theres a few improvements id suggest. Keep the display screen visible when typing (right now it scrolls off the screen when you go to type).

Works great with a prolific USB to serial adapter and after market USB adapter for the Tab 2. Using for NMEA and serial data testing of marine electronics.

I am using this to help configure Cisco network devices. Was able to connect straight away with a Dynex USB -> Serial apapter that was available at best buy for $36.00. Highly recommended for admins that want a new level of portability

As of this writing this is the only viable serial terminal tool for Android (sad but true) and it could use just a few simple features to make it the only one that is needed. One: in-app special key control (especially the ESC key). I don't really like

Can this software work on the google nexus 7 tablet? I tried it and the software does not even recognize the cable attached the the device , and the cable works fine for charging and any other stuff. Looking forward for any feedback i can have with this .
