"I gotta leave right now! Where's my phone!?"

Wheres My Droid is an useful app that will help you out to find your phone when lost

Since we don't have phones anymore, but mini-computers in our pockets, losing them it's a drama. There are coming up thousand of security apps: backups, geolocation, apps lock, and many more. This is one of the most interesting we've tried regarding device losing.

It works this way: you have to set an "attention word". When you lose your device, the only thing you have to do is send a SMS with the attention word to enable the sound (if it's disabled), and make it ringing. Regarding GPS, you have to set also an attention word but it doesn't work if the GPS wasn't enabled before losing the device. That's a flaw since if we want to use this system we need to keep the GPS enabled the whole day. It would be better that the attention word could enable the GPS.

This is the basic performance. However, there are lots preferences to set to your whim: ring/vibrate when lost, use white noise siren, ring for 30s/60s/5min, set a passcode for the app, and much more.

Wheres My Droid has been developed by alienmanfc6, an emerging developer who's reaching great success specially thanks to this app. He has released another ones on the Android market though.

This is an app that you won't use everyday (and we hope you won't need to use it never). But you will love having it when you're in a hurry and you don't find your phone. Useful.

Lost Phone?
Where's My Droid can turn the ringer volume up and make your phone ring. The app can also get the GPS coordinates with a link to Google maps if you're not near enough to your phone to hear the ringer. You have the freedom to track your phone from anywhere with a text messaged attention word or with our online Commander.

Stolen Phone?
Feel secure knowing that a thief won't be able to access your personal information on your lost phone. In the Pro version you are able to wipe and lock your stolen phone. Locking your phone will make it unusable while you try to track your lost phone's location. If there is no hope of finding your phone, then you can erase your personal information with the wipe feature.

If updating from an older version be sure to setup the new version of Commander online at wheresmydroid.com.

In order to GPS track a phone and use other features to find lost phones, several permissions are needed.
Permissions explained online at WheresMyDroid.com (link below)

It is known that some anti-virus apps will flag us as malware. This is due to all the permissions that the app needs to track lost phones. If you contact us with the maker of the anit-virus app we can usually get them to white-list us once we prove to them we are a safe phone tracking app.

For those of you having problems uninstalling the app, you just need to remove the app as a 'Device Admin'. That can be done from the phones system security menu.

Upon purchasing the upgraded version I have experienced the same things I was warned about by others in here. As soon as I purchased, it stopped working. It just always says low battery. Never take any pictures. And never manages to find it on a map. In fact every time I use it, it just shows me the last known location which is over 2 months old. Unfortunately I did not heed the warnings. Definite
