CrashDroid

CrashDroid is an application which can help you if you have a car accident. Once CrashDroid is started, it will locate our GPS coordinates and will study the accelerometer values to act in case that it found some abnormal acceleration, which could have been a car crash. CrashDroid will then send some alerts to someone, in the form of a phone call, a text or an email reporting your name, phone number, GPS coordinates and location based on Google Maps database, in order to report the accident to someone.

Nevertheless, everything could have been just a false alarm, maybe a small collition with another vehicle, so CrashDroid will wait an user configured time before sending those alerts, so you can cancel them. Its also possible to set the sensibility of the accelerometer to a desired value, so these false alarms don't happen very often.

CrashDroid is really easy to use: once it started, if it hasn't been configured yet, a configuration assitant will ask you for your name and some phone number, in case the application wasn't able to find it out by itself. After this, you would like to set the alerts to your liking and then start the service that will monitor your accelerometer. Finally, CrashDroid can be switched to background in order to use the device with some GPS navigation application or some music player. Once you arrive at your destination you can turn it off as easy as you turned it on.

Also, one of the last features is the possibility to tell the app to autostart when a desired Bluetooth device is paired with your device.
