Our audioguide app tells the story of the Birthplace of Fryderyk Chopin and Park in Żelazowa Wola. It leads you through the commemorative park and the interior of the annex, evoking the atmosphere of a bygone age while providing the latest information on the history of this very special place. The audioguide is an essential part of any visit to Żelazowa Wola.
The application contains:
•a short film featuring the natural beauty of Mazovia, where Chopin was born and spent time in his youth
•a map of the museum grounds, including the composer’s birthplace and the park, which is in itself exceptional.
The audioguide is accompanied by attractive pictures of the annex interior and park. You can also use it to listen to selected works of Chopin performed by distinguished pianists on period instruments.
The map shows important spots in the park and the buildings, with helpful descriptions for tourists.
The app also contains two texts which tell the history of the annex, and of the park created in honour of Poland’s greatest composer. These are illustrated with period documents and rare photographs showing Żelazowa Wola as it was from the late 19th century up to before the Second World War. In comparing these with the current surroundings during a visit, you can better understand this special place, which has undergone many changes, yet maintains its unique character.
The application also provides detailed practical information which can be useful both before and while visiting. We hope it will encourage everyone who has not visited Żelazowa Wola to do so, and will be a valuable souvenir for those who have.
We warmly invite you to make a trip to the place where Fryderyk Chopin came into the world.
The author of the application substantive content is the Fryderyk Chopin Institute.
