Detour provides a spin on local business search. Instead of locating businesses within a proximity to a single location, Detour finds restaurants, bars, coffee shops and much more along routes. Just specify where you're starting from, where you'll end up and what you want to find along the way!
Maybe you have some time to kill after work before heading home or meeting friends or going to a class. Start heading that way and enjoy detours along the way.
Maybe you've been to all the cool spots near your house or work or wherever else you spend a lot of time. Well there are still great places to discover in between, and when you need to travel near them anyways, it's just as convenient to hit those up.
Maybe you're headed somewhere and you realize you need to take out some money from a bank or get some gas on the way.
Well, detour can help you with all that and more!
Here're some information on actual usage, starting from allowed user inputs:
Start and End - choose your start and end locations to the route. You can use for example a neighborhood name, street address, poi name, zip code or fill in 'current location' and the app will figure out where you are.
Detour distance - choose how far you're willing to travel away from your route.
Whatchu Want Yo - you can specify this by choosing from a predefined list of common options (bar, restaurant, coffee & tea, gas station, convenience store, bank) or by filling in custom terms (food, burgers, fried chicken, cocktail, beer, piranha soup?)
Hitting the search button will bring up business summaries in a list view, which includes basic business information, estimated detour distances and ratings (as provided by yelp) for each business.
Clicking on a business summary item takes you to a detail page from which you can map an updated route from your start point to the detour and finally to the end point. Also from the detail page, you can click-to-call the business or view more information from yelp.

Really useful for those quick stops on a route or for finding a place to chill when you need to be somewhere else later.

needs a better looking ui and definitely a map feature, but besides that its great!
