The fun starts as soon as you download the Discover Ireland app. Everything you need to get the most out of your holiday in Ireland is right there on the screen. A few taps is all it takes to find information on accommodation, What’s On, Things to do, routes, travel tips and much more.

Getting started

Select a county and the town/city or simply select “Use My Current Location” and the app will present you with a range of options based on where you currently are. The following categories are then open to you:

Things To Do

The ‘Things to Do’ tab is overflowing with ideas for fun day trips and nights out. There’s something for everyone – whether you’re an Adventure holiday junkie or prefer the slower pace of chilled-out fly-fishing!

Choose between ‘Activities & Adventure’ and ‘Arts, Culture & Heritage’. You can use these sections to narrow your search and fill your day with activities that most appeal to you or your group. Selecting either will present you with an extensive list of participating companies, outlets, locations and activities all tailored to your specific tastes.

Where To Stay

Finding the perfect place to rest your weary head is easy with the ‘Where to Stay’ function, showcasing the finest hotels, guesthouses, hostels, camp sites and self catering options in your location. There are short descriptions of each suggested destination as well as reviews, general information on how to get there and what to do when you arrive plus all the relevant contact information you need to book ahead.

What’s On?

The ‘What’s On’ section means you can squeeze every bit of fun from each day of your vacation – from the early morning till the wee small hours! You’ll have instant access to information on festivals, plays, fairs, sporting events, exhibitions etc. Narrow your search to predetermined dates or simply search by the category you’re interested in and see what the app suggests.
