General Data P. Limited. (GD) is pleased to announce the open beta launch of the SOSPedia mobile application – a geo-location based on-the-fly emergency services locator for Android devices.
SOSPedia allows users to find services such as hospitals, police stations, fire departments and ATMs both within current proximity as well as within a user-specified area.
With SOSPedia, our vision is to reduce the time taken to locate and contact crucial services in time-critical situations, which is why we wanted to make it available to the public as soon as possible, while acknowledging it as a work-in-progress. Thus the current open-beta status.
SOSPedia sorts and displays emergency services on an interactive map. Users are provided with several filter options as well as a universal search bar to pinpoint relevant service providers in a given area. A user can then look up contact information as well as step-by-step directions to any of these points.
We have lots of innovative ideas that will make SOSPedia even more beneficial for our users. We are creating a seamless, intuitive experience because we understand how important saving even a few seconds can prove to be in a time of duress. For this reason, we cannot stress how important user feedback is to us. Your comments, suggestions, questions and concerns as well as databases are what we need to streamline this service and will prove invaluable to us. We welcome, and thank you for your priceless input. Send us feedback from either within the app or to firstname.lastname@example.org.
