"Your World Browser"

Reviewed by: Emmanuel Lund / Sep 20, 2011

Wikitude is a multiplatform app that uses geolocation in an innovative way

Wikitude provides a dashboard of resources that uses geolocation. Each one of these resources are called "World". Thus, Twitter, Foursquare, Wikipedia located places, Flickr, Youtube and many many others are Worlds in which you can find users that have marked their position in a tweet, a check-in, a picture, etc.

You can see the list of nearby resources (users, tweets, places, etc), view them on a map or hold up your smartphone to explore your surroundings. You will see the objects overlayed the camera display (like in Google Sky Maps). We're pretty sure that such Augmented Reality (AR) resources will amazed you. This way you will be able to easily find events, tweets, Wikipedia entries, ATMs, restaurants... whatever, more than you even imagine.

What's more, you can add Worlds to your personal dashboard. There are lots of them: Instagram, Pizza's nearby, Booking.com, Hospitals, Skateparks, Mountain Peaks, Irish Pubs, Starbucks, Hertz Car Rental,...

Wikitude is set in a good-looking layout and a user-friendly UI that makes quickly get the hang of it.

Wikitude has been developed by Wikitude GmbH and they're reaching great success with this app in iOS and Android.

Actually, Wikitude World Browser is on the way to change the way we look for surrounding services. Augmented Reality resources need to evolve and improve, but its going to be a must-have in our smartphones sooner than later. Recommendable.
