"What's On In The Big Smoke?"

Reviewed by / May 24, 2015

Find out what's happening in London, and get yourself there quickly

THE VERDICT

The London Official Events Guide is a quick and easy app for navigating your way around the 'big smoke', and checking out all the best places to see and things to do. This free app, powered by visitlondon.com, is constantly updated with events information, and you can select by all number of filters to make getting the best out of the capital quick, easy, and as cheap or expensive as your budget will allow.

The design is a little bland, but the app runs smoothly and is a super easy tool to handle for when you're on the go.

THE PROS

Getting going is very easy. Upon launching the app, you're greeted by a somewhat bland homepage with 3 main options (which can also be navigated to from the hamburger menu): What's On, Places, and Map. Moving around is really quick and easy, the app is very simple and intuitive,

You can easily narrow your search to free or paid events, which areas of London you want to focus on, and within what radius. The map is also incredibly detailed and works offline too, great if you're working out your best movements while on 'The Tube', which offers little or no phone coverage on many lines. When you've spotted something you like the look at, you can save it to favorites for quick reference, share by Twitter or Facebook, get directions, and set the event date and time to your calendar.

THE CONS

The app's design is a little bland, and it would be great if travel information were included too. Aside from this, it would also be good to be able to add and see comments, or view ratings on each event?place to see if they are really worth a visit or not.
