We must applaud what Revolution Software is doing, fetching those lovely Broken Sword late nineties games and porting them to mobile devices with so much care and attention. It's absolutely fantastic to have the chance to play them again or show them to new generations of gamers. Plain truth is that we didn't even dare to wonder that they could have been played on a phone, and we hope graphic adventure season starts again and more titles can be rescued from time. We're sure you can quickly name two or three games worthy to be remastered -such a cinematographic term- and brought back through our devices.
However, when Broken Sword port added new elements to the game and made it even better, this sequel contents itself keeping the game as it was then. Yes, music, graphics, voices and so are great, but we haven't been amazed as we were when we played Broken Sword. Yes, you can save your progress in the cloud, but what we really were looking for are more scenes and, who knows, a new plot twist or whatever.
Anyway, Broken Sword 2 has what a sequel should have and it's a great adventure game perfect to be enjoyed once you end the original Broken Sword. However, it's also a lost chance to not only bring it back, but to make it greater and inaugurate a new golden era of adventures.
Broken Sword comes fully voiced in Spanish with option for subtitles in Spanish, Italian, English French or German. There're also dubbed versions to Italian and English, where latter is cheaper.
