If you like classic Super Mario games, you'd probably enjoy Heavy Sword. Actually, there are lot of similarities. First, the storyline: a group of orks and goblins have kidnapped the Princess of the fantastic realm your hero lives in. He'll take the sword and start a journey to bring her back. Thus, despite neither the theme nor the main character are the same (swords and swells instead of plumbing and mushrooms) both graphics are gameplay reminds the classic adventures of our favorite plumber.
Rescuing the princess won't be an easy task: you'll have to jump over platforms, collect coins and power-ups and kill the enemies on the way, level after level (there are over 20 levels to beat, including some bonus). You know it works, right?
Heavy Sword is set in an anachronistic fantastic world: it brings together medieval elements (swords, castles, orks) with robots and automatic weapons. Its polished 8-bit graphics remind old good days with your NES. The only catch worth to mention: controls. It tries to emulate basic video console buttons (two arrows for going forward/backward, jump and attack button). However, that makes it difficult to control, especially on tablets.
Besides, another good platformer you can add to your list.
