Ninja Warriors

Ninja Warriors's review

Ninja Warriors is a side-scrolling beat'em up

  • Got the essence of classic beat'em up
  • Great graphics
  • Intuitive controls
  • Dialogues could be annoying

"Ninja warriors crusade"

Although isn't theme is different, Ninja Warriors really looks like classic beat'em up like Streets of Rage. However, the plot is more important here, since there are lots of dialogues from your Master and other NPC you find on your way. Actually this part reminds to a RPG game (and from my point of view it's a bit annoying in beat'em up-like games).

Evil and Storm, the bad guys, reached NYC and want to scatter chaos. Ninja Warriors, steered by the Master will fight them through levels, beating their lackey and muscles.

Graphics are great: developers have enhanced them (specially regarding special attacks effects and clearness) but keeping the essence of 16-bit 2D graphics. Love them. Controls are intuitive: a screenpad with directional joystick, a right button to attack and some buttons at the top for special attacks.

Those who enjoyed classic beat'em up will have a blast with this one. However, we hope you like RPG too because you'll spend some time with dialogues and following the storyline.
