"How much can you rob?"

Reviewed by / Nov 15, 2012

Chrono&Cash is an addictive old-fashioned platformer

This paid version includes some extra features like playing both landscape and portrait and new challenges and awards.

Classic gameplay and pixelated retro graphics. That's OrangePixel formula and it seems to work. Maybe due to we spent such great times playing this kind of games when we were kids.

Thus, simple gameplay: you embody an avenger who's robbing loot to petty thieves. Your goal is to clear the level of money bags and jewels as fast as possible while avoiding other thieves touching you. Once the level is cleared, then a new round will start. How long can you last? That's what you have to show off.

Pixelated graphics and retro music ensures a nostalgic experience. Controls are simple too: a screenpad with two buttons for moving left/right and one for jumping (doble tap for higher jumping). That's it.

There are lots of challenges to unlock and awards to collect. You can submit your scores on Twitter for challenging your contacts to beat your personal best. Recommendable.

Developer's original description available here
"You’ll constantly be trying a new challenge and will even get your friends involved, just to beat their high scores." 8.5/10 - Paranerds

"The tightness of the design of Chrono & Cash makes it one of Orangepixel’s best games yet" - 8/10 Android rundown

Retro coin-operated gameplay is back - from the guys behind Meganoid, Stardash and INC !

You play as Cash, a talented thief who, accompanied by his trusty Chrono robot CR2, travels through time to rob from the bad and… well.. let’s just keep it in the middle what he does with the things he robs!

Every level is a single screen with a collection of platforms and treasure, grab it, and advance to the next level! … just avoid contact with the locals!

Extra cool features:

With the heavy inspiration of arcades, we decided to make this game work in both landscape (horizontal) AND portrait (vertical) mode for the real Arcade feeling.

Unlockable disguises! just some names you will be able to unlock: Burnie, Dino, Dr Cavor, Commander Pixman, and more!

Score challenges: complete the challenges given and increase your score multiplier for even higher scores!

Use the optional twitter integration to brag about your highscore!

Compatible with the iCade .. yes the iCade also works with Android tablets ;)

Good 8 bit graphics, soundtrack and FX. If you own a Moga controller it's a no brainer purchase. Support devs who support Moga! Keep cranking out these 8 bit gems with Moga support OrangePixel and I'll keep buying them. I own all your Moga supported games and love them all!

A simple but remarkably tight platformer and well worth the money. . But then, it would be hard not to be worth the money, it's less than a cup of coffee.
