Final Defence is a static first person shooter. It puts you in charge of the first, only and last line of coastal, Normandy like, defense against an army of enemy marines coming by sea and air. You have a gatling gun and they've brought their motorized, armored, mechanized and airborne divisions, plus suppressive fire from their battleships and targeted bombing by their fighter bombers. It seems that the whole world is against you and indeed it is. The first you will notice is that the difficulty is extreme since the very first enemy waves.
By the way, there's a shop where you can, err, spend money to acquire upgrades. Although you earn some small change every time you play, the way to gather enough coins to have any chance is through in-app purchases or downloading any of the suggested games, a formula increasingly in vogue.
Graphics are good, or at least better than animations. It's easy to catch the grasp of the controls, though 'gravity' -meaning tilt- controls seems slightly better. Anyway, battlefield is too huge to be looked down over in a single glance so you'll find yourself launching your life saver missiles too soon. Sound effects and music do their job.
Broadly speaking, Final Defence is an absolute time waster suited for gamers who don't care about storylines or whatever. It's just about shooting down whoever lands on that of beach as if your life depended on it, which is the case.
