Healthy Weapon

Healthy Weapon's review

by Peter Warrior

An original 2D vegetable fighting game

  • Easiest fighting game to learn ever
  • Curious character design
  • It's too simple to be enjoyed by serious gamers
  • Nonsense gaming

"By the power of the pomegranate!"

First at all: is Healthy Weapon a 2D fighting game? Yes, it is, and an original one indeed, in which characters wield bananas as if they were guns, pineapples as flails and carrots as nunchakus.

It's an easy to play game, as there aren't combos or strange half-moon moves. In fact, there's no onscreen stick, because nearly all moves move you closer to your rival and you can jump backwards just by tapping anywhere on the screen. There are A, B and C attacks combinable with the jump button, which can be tapped twice to jump up and forward (but not forwards).

The lack of combos or the too easy to learn gameplay makes strategy nearly nonexistent, proving that this game may be the best introductory game to more complex 2D fighting. However, it won't be able to satisfy those who were looking for a hilarious version of Street Fighter or whatsoever. Lastly, don't forget the 2 players versus mode, played on the same device: it can be your salvation in long road trips.

This complete version brings all characters, even the secret ones, and all game modes.
