A RPG simulator
Welcome to the last RPG and the last simulator game left to be done, a game that combines all the stuff we love best: we have retro graphics, MIDI-like music, multiple saving slots, true RPG chatter and, overall, a free ticket to ride a Delorean and go back to our beloved early nineties, when Larry Elmore drew what Gary Gygax dreamt.
In Knights of Pen & Paper we get control over several hardened roleplayers and their dungeon master, conveniently sat around the dinner table. Following a cliche yet loving storyline, you have to choose the (random) encounters, undertake more than a hundred quests and manage characters' experience and skills. Meanwhile, there are items galore and you can decorate the room where game is actually played to improve players' mood. This includes chips, pizzas, dungeon chains and nerd stuff.
I wouldn't like to overtalk about this game, so let's go straight to the point: I found it critically awesome, an absolute fumblenessless. Not only is nostalgically enjoyable, but also extremely entertaining. Recommended for any former RPG player, for any wannabe RPG player and, in short, for anyone who doesn't think that RPGs are just games about compiling XPs to raise levels and brag online. Gosh, this game's a beautiful homage to roleplaying and roleplayers. And it's fun. Very fun.
...and don't worry about the $2 price. You spend many times that cost only in marble d20s at the time.
"This is Role-Playing in its purest form." -- Kotaku-US
""An indie turn-based retro style pixel-art RPG." I love every single one of those adjectives." -- IGN
"It’s clever, charming, customizable, and virtually infinitely replayable." -- 148 apps
Set out on a grand adventure in this turn-based, retro style, pixel-art RPG, inspired by the great titles of the 90's. This +1 edition features an extended campaign, more dungeons to explore, new attacks to use in combat, and the Tavern – a place to store your adventurers.
Take on the roles of in-game players taking on the roles of their characters in a traditional pen and paper RPG session in the ultimate meta roleplaying experience. As both the playing characters AND the dungeon master, players can choose which battles to fight. Put together a bunch of monsters to make for a challenging fight and your efforts will be equally rewarded!
Choose from multiple classes, such as knights and mages, pick your characters to control those classes, like grandma or kid brother, and take on the loads of quests, monsters, items and equipment littered throughout Knights of Pen & Paper +1 Edition. Blacksmiths, enchanters, mining, gathering, hidden treasures and a whole lot more await, giving players a lot of room to personalize their gameplay experience.
Don’t wait any longer, the Pen & Paper world needs you!

At first I got quite annoyed to see I had paid for a game where you need lots of coins to play. However after playing through the game I never needed to buy coins anyway. So now I can finally wholeheartedly recommend this game :-) I think the developers have a lot more potential in the end jokes (they're just lame) but all in all a pleasant experience :-)
I love it
one of the reasons i dont play mobile rpgs is because the controls are too clunky or unresponsive.what a joy it was to find out it has simple touch control.been playing an hour or so and find it hard to stop.well worth the $2.00.greatbjob guys!
This game is the best game on the app market. It had all the fun things I like about rpg games with the witty fourth wall breaking use of the pen and paper element. Hoping for more campaigns soon. An online mode where you can chose characters in the tavern would be awesome as well.
I love this game, so much replayability
By far the best Android game I've played.
