A faithful reconstruction of the classic Atari 2600 game Berzerk.

Manik was painstakingly written from scratch, and is not a port or an emulation. I loved Berzerk as a kid and would like to keep the game alive. I played many hours of Berzerk learning the behaviour of the game in order to reproduce all the quirks.

* Identical gameplay (can even shoot the robot bullets & Evil Otto)
* Rebuilt graphics and sounds to closely match the original (and YES the robots talk)
* Identical quirks from the original console (black lines, bugs, otto flickering)
* Game controller support

The controls are -identical- to the Atari 2600 version. Thats how it was in the 1980s. If you are expecting smooth 360 degree motion - please don't post complaints in the reviews section. This is a remake of an old game, including things you dislike about it.

Atari bugs can be disabled/enabled. This is completely freeware with no adds.

I own no Berzerk copyrights, and Manik does not contain any original data from the Berzerk ROM. It just.. looks a lot like it :)

Wise Yoda says 'Have many fingers, find many secrets! Touchy tappy! Find Berzerk hidden secret!'

Recently changed in this version

Everyone was asking about smaller controls for phones. Welp, done!
The small controls are default, so check the settings for a 'large controls' option.

Also thanks to everyone who commented with kind words. I spent many saturday mornings as a kid in my underpants playing Berzerk. I'm still playing Berzerk these days. And in my underpants.

    I love Atari games. They're beyond my time and this is a good port and it supports my Viaplay F2 gamepad. Can you add Vectrex graphics? :D that would make this over the top!!!

    I really enjoyed your remake of manik and the all the extra work you put into it like the sound effects and Atari quirks show the passion you have for the game. Once I hit the levels with pop cutural references though it kind of brought me down. I may be asking a bit much for a free game but could you possibly put in the option for pop culture free play. That being said manik is my favourite game
