An utter reinterpretation of Asteroids
Atom Shooter is a reinterpretation of Asteroids, based on real atomic structures rather than vectorial threats from outer space. This means that stages are named as chemical elements in rising difficulty, starting from Hydrogen and ending with heavy, artificial elements. As your goal is to destroy and collect orbiting electrons first, the heavier the element the more elements on screen at the same time. once you have destroyed all the electrons, the core will explode and, as a life or death bonus, you have to collect protons and avoid neutrons. In addition, laws of physics apply, so the heavier the nucleus is, more powerfully will attrack you and there's no need to say that any impact with anything will destroy your nano-ship-craft.
Controls, in any of the available options are very tricky, and this game reaches insane difficulty since the very first stages. This is a fun and original game that can be played for days before getting bored, beautifully wrapped up in minimalistic design. However, it might become discouraging because of its difficulty, but if you get the hang of it there will be no way to pull you off the screen. Every time you'll awarded according to how much time you needed, and how many electrons and protons you collected. Awards can be exchanged in the shop to upgrade your ship.
This complete version comes with all the 118 levels, one for each element in the periodic table (yes, yes, Chemistry purists, elements 113-118 are included!)
Collect shot down electrons and neutrons from the nucleus explosion to buy new weapons, engines, modules and ships! Even more stuff is coming in the updates!
Play in two game modes:
For each of the 118 levels / elements from the periodic table you get 3 ships to try to finish it, and unlock the next one. Your performance in 3 categories: time, collected electrons and collected neutrons is measured with bronze, silver and gold stars. You can always come back to any finished level to master it.
You get 3 ships, start from Hydrogen and make your way through the elements. How far and how much points can you get?
1.0.3 - Fixed launch issues on older Android versions.
1.0.2 - Fixed the issues with white graphics (some textures were not loading correctly on some devices)! The game now should work properly.
About once per level, after 40 or such, the game crashes. Otherwise good, just increasingly annoying and useless...
Will not open on my Sony Xperia J
1. Crashes so often, that I really don't feel like playing it anymore 2. Sometimes weapons/movement controls don't work anymore 3. Settings are not saved so I have to mute the music and change joystick size each time 4. Minor bugs appear when changing wea
I don't like the default control scheme in the game. I prefer the alternative button layout more. The only problem is that the thrust and gun buttons sporadically stop working. I've enlarged the buttons, but that doesn't solve the problem. It makes the ga
Sadly the constant crashes have forced me to rate this as 1 star: A very pretty shooter based on a fairly simple premise, good fun when it doesn't crash which sadly it does a lot.
Very polished game
