Stunning 3D app experience to parallel the recent lost-in-space movie
2001: A Space Odyssey brought you HAL, Star Wars brought you ewoks. The recent film Gravity brings you nothing. In this way, it's one of the most realistic and terrifying space flicks yet; stars George Clooney and Sandra Bullock fight for survival against the oppressive, deadly nothingness that's really out there. Warner Bros' Gravity: Don't Let Go app is a shockingly good port of the anxiety-inducing movie to your mobile device.
The three dimensional environment of the game is astoundingly rendered. It doesn't look quite as sharp as the actual movie of course, but it's a gorgeous approximation. You've no time to explore the stark beauty, however - the first mission opens by spinning you wildly out of control. Stabilize yourself by following the on-screen instructions while an intense combination of heavy breathing, racing heartbeat, and discordant music jars violently in the background (headphones definitely recommended for the full experience!).
Once stabilized, you'll need to follow bearings to retrieve your partner. Nothing's easy in space, though, and the controls mimic this difficulty - you'll find yourself totally off your intended flight path more often than not. Compound this with the ever-decreasing oxygen meter and you may feel your blood begin to boil. In the context of staying true to the movie experience, this is a very cool thing.
There are several multi-step single player missions available for you to play through. There's also a supremely buggy multiplayer mode that links you with folks over the cloud, but I never figured out objectives nor controls - I'd just ignore that option if I were you.
Warner Bros' Gravity: Don't Let Go is an ultra-well designed replication of the movie (apart from the awful multiplayer mode) - it succeeds in genuinely immersing you in the horrifying nothingness of space. Expect to get freaked out.
Multi-player gameplay added
Difficulty of mission 1, 2 and 3 adjusted

Additional language options added
At 372 miles above Earth, the view is breathtaking, but life is impossible. Whatever you do: don't let go.
Gravity: Don’t Let Go invites players to experience the tension and excitement of director Alfonso Cuarón’s thrilling film as they struggle to survive in the vast emptiness of space. Following a repair mission that has gone very wrong, you must detach from the damaged structure and stabilize yourself before piloting an EVA suit to rescue your partner and return to the ISS airlock. Controlling the suit in zero-gravity is no easy task especially when your oxygen levels are dangerously low. Do you have the skill and strategic thinking needed to survive in this unforgiving environment? Additional missions require players to repair damaged ISS components and pilot the Soyuz spacecraft. Multi-player gameplay is coming soon. From Warner Bros. Pictures and director Alfonso Cuarón, Gravity, starring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney, is in theaters October 4.
