Happy Balance Ball

Expert's review

Happy Balance Ball is a physics-based tilt-controlled game

  • 3D graphics
  • Lots of levels
  • Accurate tilt-controls
  • HD devices optimized
  • Laggy in some devices

"Steady hands"

Actually, from mazes to racing games, tilt controls are becoming an added-value feature for mobile gaming. It makes simple games quite more interesting. That's Happy Balance Ball case: a simple premise that turns into really addictive when playing it with the accelerometer.

You have to steer a ball through paths collecting gems and gold relics and avoiding to fall off the stage. Paths are placed in 3D colored galaxy environments that look like space stations. Since game camera is POV, you must use arrows in the screen to rotate camera, which is mandatory to see what's coming next.

Thus, scenery is one of its strongest point. It has been optimized for HD devices and tablets. However, we have noticed some lag in medium-end devices. It would be great if developers could also optimize the game in that regard.

Increasing complexity, lots of levels, tilt-controls and 3D graphics. Good game.
