Runic Rumble is an original mobile-native fighting game controlled with gestures
Did you think that fighting games were finished? Epiphany Games has hardly worked to show that new platforms (like Android) help to open opportunity windows for reinventing classic game genres. Runic Rumble is the result of this effort. A mobile-native magic-fighting game inspired by Street Fighter and 2D fighting games that introduces an original control system (gestures).
Punches and kicks have nothing to do here. This is a more, let's say, elegant fight: players only use spells. There are 4 unique spell elements: Earth, Dream, Fire and Water. Before the battle you must select your spells to use against your enemy (maximum 4, so choose them wisely). Each spell you select creates a Magic Orb of that element: that Magic Orbs are like your Mana, you won't be able to use them unless it's fully charged.
Here's the best part: to cast a spell you must draw its Rune sliding your finger through the screen. Every Spell has its Rune. Bear in mind that some elements defeats other (Earth defeats Dream, Fire defeats Earth,...). Likewise, there are some spells that boost others you previously cast .
Thus, draw Spell Runes accurately, cast those spells that overcome your opponent's and use all resources at your disposal to beat them: Spell Prediction, Spell Collision rules, etc.
No complaints about graphics: rich 3D graphics with stunning effects and animations. The only catch: it takes too long to load menus, at least on medium-end devices. Despite of this, this is one of those original and well-crafted games that every good gamer should try. As always, a lite or demo version would be appreciated, but our 5 out of 5 rating should be enough to dispel any doubt you may have yet.
This game is 38 MB but displays as 74+ MB.
Minimum spec Samsung Galaxy S1, we will release a light non HD version in the near future.
Explore the world of Amorra as Aki a Shaman, on a mission to unlock magical spells in this gesture based spell fighter. Choose your spells and strategy and battle through over 20 levels of story. With stunning visuals and fast game play you will enjoy Runic Rumble on your tablet or phone. Stay tuned for updates as we introduce new levels and challenges.
Runic Rumble is set in the rich, unique world-setting of Amorra, and introduces our protagonist, Aki: a mischievous little creature with a sharp mind, and sharper tongue, who has escaped the bonds of servitude to discover the origins of his people. Although short in stature, he is fearless and, as a sort of novice Shaman, able to wield magic – albeit with a novice’s skill.
One night, while creeping around an eerie, deserted campsite, looking for food, and maybe the odd trinket to pocket, Aki is accosted by a powerful and mysterious Entity. Enraged by Aki’s trespass, it transports Aki to another dimension where he is forced to fight for the Entities’ entertainment, battling with his spells and wits in order to escape with his life, and learn some powerful new magics, to boot.
Will Aki be able to make it out or will this Entity capture Aki’s soul forever? Aki has no choice but to jump through the portal and fight!

I like fighting games but this is some elemental rock vs fire junk. I will play it a bit more and reassess but as for now meh. Also the app icon sucks big time.
