STAR BLITZ

A modern shoot'em-up.

It seems like more than a game developer is working hard to bring to our mobiles games more suitable for consoles. Last generation Android graphics and sound can compete on equal terms with nearly any other portable device. However, players sometimes prefer simpler and easier games. Or at least, a simpler and easier way to play.

Let's reorient this review: Star Blitz requires a 113 Mb. extra download and a Facebook sign in before even starting to play. At last, when you can start playing the only choice you'll have to take is between a cool gloomy black boy with a scar on his cheek and a cute purple dyed haired girl with, ehem, attitude. Once the introductions are done, what you'll find is a well crafted shoot'em-up with a lot of weapons and countless waves of enemies.

Gameplay can be as tricky as interesting: use the left control wheel to move your starship where wards and the right control to fire your gun in the direction held. Earn experience to master the weapons you purchase or loot and don't stop dodging enemy bullets (or proton missiles or whatever shiny little spheres, it doesn't matter). There's a sidewing at your side that helps you. If you link your play with a friend's, he or she will be your sidekick.

Beyond this point, everything remains as usual: recolect green stones that can be exchanged for coins at the end of the battle, survive the more time the better and try to save the galaxy if you have some spare time by the way.

There are ads here and there, but don't interrupt the game. Nice game if this kind of games are your thing, or if you want to see what does a XXI century shooter look like.
