"The original X-men arcade lands on Android"

Here it is. Twenty years later, Konami unearths one of the most famous four player arcade ever (with TMNT's permission). There isn't much to talk about, it's the same game, literally pixel by pixel. The main difference is that you don't need to squeeze your weekly pocket money to play.

The first remarkable thing about X-men is that controls are quite messy, so all your previous knowledge you might think you have kept all these years from all your hours of gameplay stored in the past century will prove to be useless until you get the grasp again. It's like if the screen has become smaller but characters moved at the same speed as then. About difficulty, there aren't difficulty settings: it's ranges from very hard in the first stages to impossible in the latest. In the end, it was this way then and it's the same now. By the way, the super attack button gets tapped too easily so you will find more than once cleaning up the screen when there aren't any enemies in it; and jumping attacks seem ineffective, at least compared to forward and backward smashing punch button combos.

However, game brings several additions to the original game, thought for adapting it to mobile device users. For example, you can choose which stage you start on, so you have not to start over again. Although a 'save where you are' option would have been appreciated, it's better than nothing.

The best part is the multiplayer option. This game wouldn't have been what it was without it, and Konami has wisely carried over an option to play up to four players at once if all four are within the same wi-fi connection. This allows to schedule an awesome revival evening with your old high school mates.

That's all so far: choose among Wolverine, Jubilee, Colossus, Storm, Cyclops and Nightcrawler, look for three more nostalgic friends and enjoy battling the White Queen, Juggernaut and Magneto himself. It's just a dollar in exchange for all those quarters you spent at the time.
