"Ye olde game of bein' a Lord"

Mobile version of the board game "Carcassonne"

Carcassonne, the board game, is one of those games that seem they were old before the war, when it's indeed a modern game that became a classic as soon as it was released. It takes its name from an archetypal medieval southern French village.

If you haven't ever played it, don't worry. There are just a few rules clearly explained in a brief yet concise tutorial. It's a turn based game where players create together a landscape placing tiles and earn points deploying followers on. Turn by turn, players try to earn as many points as they can controlling towns, roads, farms and monasteries. There's no fight, just strategy. In fact, as luck is rather no involved, it's mere strategy.

Game can be played alone through twelve different challenges; against AI foes (it should be highlighted that AI plays quite well and it's quite a challenge to defeat it) or, and here's the best part of it, with up to four human players via hotseat and online multiplayer mode. Includes the expansion pack "The river", which adds river tiles.

In addition to English, are also supported Spanish, German and French. An odd midi-like troubadour theme accompanies all along the match. Graphics are functional, resembling the original board and pieces. No lags, freezes nor forceclosings detected. Loading times are brief and no additional downloads are required.

Highly recommendable for every board game or strategy lover, parents and children alike.

I was unable to install the most recent update. It would always say "could not install on sd card or external storage, but I have over 4 gb of free space available on each card, separately. So I tried uninstalling the app, and now I can't install the app at all as I keep getting the same message.

Overall the app is great. However, there are a few things that would make it even better: (1) prevent device from locking the screen (very annoying during end of game counting), (2) use the whole screen (hide the android home/back buttons), (3) better logic for how the river tiles can be placed (I have experienced several times where the river could not be finished).

As most reviews have pointed out there are a few bugs. I've noticed i am unable to choose when to play my double settler unless its my last (single player) . Also, if a multilayer person forfeits a game the scores are calculated as tho its the end of the game...I've lost to someone who's resigned because i didnt have my farms connected. Definitely needs to include some multiplier performance stats

See David knickerbockers review, hits the nail on the head. How can you release something that has an unfinished/glitched tutorial?

They have done a really good job of bringing the board game to tablet, and the app works really well. Always good to see an app continuing with development bringing out the expansions and keeping things fresh.

I really love it, although I would also like a better online experience: championships, tournaments, play history, etc.
