Super Battleships

Super Battleships's review

Super Battleships is an Android version of the classic board game

  • Entertaining
  • Minimalistic interface
  • Multiple difficulty levels
  • No online leaderboards
  • Only one game mode

"Hit and sunk"

Easy-Lab honours its name and makes it easy: Super Battleships is set in a minimalistic interface that focus on what really matters: playing. First you see when launching the game is a big red button from where you can adjust the difficulty of the game just by swiping right or left. After that, push the button and start playing.

Well-known gameplay: just tap random cells on a grid looking for enemy's units. If you fail (that's it, you find just water), it's your opponent's turn. If you hit a ship, tap again the surrounding cells in order to hit and sunk it all. It sounds easy but, it isn't at all: luck and intuition are both part of this game. Sunk your whole opponent's army before they do to win the game (20 cells hit).

Graphics aren't stunning, although scenery isn't the keystone of this kind of mobile version of board games. I personally like the minimalism of its interface, the way of choosing its multiple difficulty levels and the formula, which is a classic. Classics always work.

Oh I almost forget it: developer says that there's a prize to the person who wins the computer at the highest level of difficult. I'm not winning it so far.
