"Take your word puzzling to the next level of zen"

Reviewed by / Oct 10, 2013

Find the seven words that match the clues by combining letter pairs

Serious wordplay enthusiasts don't need crazy colors or funny cartoons in order to sink their teeth into a good linguistic puzzle, and the 7 Little Words app is especially for them. Minimalist in design and concept but devilishly difficult to master, the app is chock full of puzzles that will keep you scratching your head for ages.

Each puzzle has just seven words to solve. The clues are short, similar to those you'd find in a crossword. You've got to find those seven words - in any order - from a bank of pairs of letters. There's no penalty for a wrong guess nor a ticking time limit, which makes for an utterly zen experience.

Several of the puzzles are legitimately difficult: it's not uncommon to quickly get just a few answers and find yourself stumped by the rest. To help you out, you can shuffle the letter tiles as many times as you wish, or you can use a limited number of free hints. Careful, though - these are only renewable through paying for more.

The free version of the app includes a pack of 50 puzzles, plus one brand new one each day. Over 40 further puzzle packs are available for in-app purchase.

7 Little Words is an outstanding app from Blue Ox Technologies Ltd, offering hours of bite-size puzzle fun for language lovers everywhere.
